Dr. Brian Topping received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Ball State University. He continued his education at Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. Dr. Topping began practicing dentistry in 1998 and opened his own office in 2002, in Nappanee, Indiana. Dr. Topping believes in constantly improving his accreditation’s and education to maintain the highest level of care for his patients. Dr. Topping is a member of The Academy of General Dentistry, American Orthodontic Society, International Congress of Oral Implantology, Misch International Implant Institute, and the Nappanee Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Topping is also a strong believer in giving back to the community. He is on the Board of Directors for Faith Mission in Elkhart. Faith Mission is a homeless shelter, serving those underprivileged in Elkhart and the surrounding counties. He has also traveled to Mexico and Haiti on Dental Mission Trips. Dr. Topping is a member of the American Motorcycling Association and enjoys riding motorcycles with his son Grant. He is married to a “hometown” girl, Stephanie (Swihart) and they also have a daughter Arianna. Dr. Topping’s hobbies include rugby, hunting, fishing, water skiing, and any other outdoor activities. Dr. Swihart grew up in Wakarusa, Indiana and graduated from NorthWood High School. He went on to complete his Biology degree from Valparaiso University in 2006, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Swihart then received his doctorate from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2010. He has had specialized training in Invisalign and Implants and is member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. In order to provide the highest quality of dentistry to his patients, Dr. Swihart takes many hours of continuing education. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Holly, son Brayson, and daughter Bailey. He also loves reading, working out, and watching Florida Gators Football and IU Basketball. HISTORY In September of 1971 Earl and Jim Smith opened for business in Rensselaer Indiana in the old F.O. Hershman John Deere building on Walnut Street as a Tractor Supply Franchise Store. We soon our grew our facility and moved to a new 10,000 sq. ft. building at our present location on the north side of Rensselaer in 1976. In 1978 another 5,000 sq. ft. was added to our building. June of 1981 saw another addition as Don and Earl Smith opened for business in the old Five Star Grocery in Knox Indiana. A 1,000 sq. ft. Radio Shack was opened inside of Smith Farm Store in Knox in 1991. In 2001 we saw yet another addition to our family; we purchased an Ace Hardware store in Plymouth Indiana. This store does by Smith's Ace Hardware and also Smith Farm Store. A year later there was yet another addition to the family; we opened out fourth store in Rochester Indiana. This store opened as a new store with 12,600 sq. ft. and they are busting at the seams. The latest addition came in December of 2006 when Don and Kim opened an internet store. Our first Christmas season was a success as our Internet store established new customers in 23 states and inquiries from as far away as Great Brittan. Our internet store has since grown and we are adding new things all the time. The internet store has been under going a lot of changes this past year in 2016 with its look and content. Smith Farm Store is truly a locally owned and operated company. All of the sons and the daughter of Earl Smith have worked in the stores at one time in their loves. The two sons worked for their father until the passing of Jim in 2009 and Don continues to run the family business today. [read more]
