You might ask how did we make the transition from limestone to golf cars? The original corporation was a pioneer quarrier of limestone in the 1930s. As the demand for limestone decreased in the 1960s, the company was faced with the dilemma of finding another product to sell. Golf was gaining in popularity and the demand for distributors to sell and service golf cars was increasing. The Bloomington Limestone Company was granted the exclusive authorized distributor territory for E-Z-GO Textron products in 1971. In 1981, as golf car sales represented an ever-increasing portion of the company's business, the Board of Directors elected to change the company's name to Professional Golfcar Corporation.
